Airgun Muzzle Safety Cap

Introducing the airgun Muzzle Safety Cap. The Muzzle Safety Cap (MSC) is designed to cover the end of your air rifle barrel while you handle your rifle around the shooting range, on the Field Target course, or anytime you want a little added safety for your air rifle.

The MSC is designed to absorb multiple point-blank discharges of an air rifle. It will stop and capture the discharged pellet to prevent injury to yourself or bystanders. The MSC is not designed to replace airgun safety handling but an addition to normal safety precautions.

The MSC covers the muzzzle of the airgun and is held in place by an elastic band. The elastic band is looped around the rear of the airgun or scope mount. It can even be looped around the cocking handle. The Muzzle Cap is then placed on the end of the muzzle. The MSC is held against the end of the barrel by the elastic band (see pictures below).

The MSC has a patent-pending steel and rubber insert that will protect the airgun muzzle while stopping a pellet discharge. If a discharge does occur, the MSC will absorb the pellet internally. The elastic band will stop the MSC from flying away from the airgun so that it won’t contact a bystander. Click the link below to watch a discharge video.

The MSC has been tested to withstand up to ten shots from a 18 ft. lbs. air rifle (see pictures below). At this time, the MSC is not rated for airguns above 20 ft. lbs.; nor should it be used for higher power air rifles.

Note: No penetration of the steel insert or Muzzle Cap.

The airgun Muzzle Safety Cap cost is $5.00 each, plus shipping. Shipping will be by flat rate USPS, so up to 8 MSC units will be the same anywhere in the continental US. There are four sizes available: The 1", 1 1/8", 1 1/4", and 1 1/2". Most airguns with standard size barrels. Barrels with muzzle compensators or other muzzle weights may require larger sizes. For larger MSCs or custom MSCs, please email me before ordering.

Special notched MSCs are available for airguns that have cocking handles or filler tubes that extend to the end of the muzzle (like the HW97 or TX200). Please indicate if you require a notched MSC.

Disclainer: The Muzzle Safety Cap is an additional safety device. It does not replace safe gun handling practices or mechanical airguns safties. The MSC is for use with airguns only. The MSC is rated for airguns with a muzzle energy of 20 ft lbs or less of energy. Use on airguns of more than 20 ft lbs of muzzle energy may cause catastrophic failure of the MSC and may result in injury to the user, bystanders, and airgun.
