Goin' To A Show

Tomorrow I am heading over to Little Rock to attend the Airgun Expo. This is one of the airgun shows that I am able to go to since it is within driving distance of my home. The Expo is in Little Rock Arkansas which is about 6 hours from my home here in Huntsville. I am going to get up at 3:00 am and drive over for Friday, stay over night, attend the show Saturday and then head home when the show closes.

I have attended several Expos in the past and have always enjoyed myselft. One year, while I was writing for US Airgun, I even stayed with Robin Parks and his wife during the show and helped him some with setup and tear down. That was the year that Robin setup a McGlashen (sp) trainer on the airgun range. That was a blast as it is an automatic BB gun and would tear up a target in no time.

This year I am actually going to have my own table. I decided it was time to go through some of the airgun stuff I have had sitting around for years and sell it. I have 4 or 5 airguns I am going to sell too but most of it is scopes, pellets, catalog/magazines and other misc. equipment. It is really amazing how much stuff accumulates over the years and with selling some of it I can start all over and start accumulating more stuff to sell at future shows! I am really looking forward to seeing many of my airgunning friends at the show. I hope to see some of you there too.

The Passing of One of our Own

I found out today that James Kitching passed away on April 24th. Many of you may not know James by name but he has run the Fun Supply website and sold good quality airgun and equipment for years. Most of you would probably recognize his airgun forum which has been affectionately known over the years as the Yellow Forum.

I did not know James personally but I have had many dealing with him over the years and he was alway and honest gentleman in our dealings. He was one of those guys that if he told me that he was going to do something you could take his word on it and he would follow through on it.

James and I shared one thing in common, we both have websites that are there for the use of the airgun community. With that came headaches common to those who host websites. James forum filled a void that was left when the Airgun Letter forum left the web. I purused his forum almost daily, it is a easy to read forum that sometimes gets heated but is usually interesting reading.

Death is a part of life and I hope that with the passing of James that someone close to him will continue his forum in his honor. My condolences go out to Jame's family, his friend and loved ones in this time of loss.
